I have also attempted an SFC (no problems found) and have error checked both drive (no faults found). That's the option that worked for me; hopefully it will fix your issue, as well. I deleted all the old Java cache files, made another VSC (by running System Protection, manually creating another restore copy and then deleting old ones by running Disk Cleanup (by selecting Cleaning hard drive takes longer time and erases data permanently, after which lost files can't be recovered. Z is just used for backups, and there is still 176GB free out of 238GB on the partition.
