In "Manage Services on Server" (Central Administration): SharePoint Foundation Search was "Stopped" SharePoint Server Search is "Started" Attempting to re-start it from "Manage Services on Server" (Central Administration), appears to have crawl, delete search service application, .... See post above for what they show when the OSearch14 is not started. (c) Unfortunately, this is only a temporary work-around. Of course, if I need to take them in a different order, I am open to such approaches.
