This "cleans" the reserved partition. My setup was a little different though. I said the .vhd file was 5.8 meg instead of 5.8 gig. It took me almost one day of research and trial-and-error to go around theThere are too few disks on this computer or one or more of the disks is too small...error You can recover a complete PC to another harddrive of any size. It is the same disk. There are so may "solutions" floating around here, that one is not sure which is recommended by MS.

I was getting the same error trying to restore a backup from usb-hdd to my hp dl 380G6 with W2008SRV. Run diskpart, the disk utility. I'm not sure if this has been properly documented by Microsoft which they should (please point out if you know where the doc is), they should have made the restore process All rights reserved.

Since the Virtual PC/Server use the VHA file extension aswell for its virtual harddrive files, it would really be a big mess. I pressed "Ok" on the confirmation dialog. Then I used the command assign letter=C to assign the C drive letter, which corresponds to the one in the backup image. Huh?
