I had this problem after I installed & ran a registry scan,and clicked to fix problems. She could still access the internet via the keyboard, so she didn't care, and I hadn't had time to fiddle with it...until Sunday. The time now is 17:17. If I could get it to boot from the CD I think I could format the HD C partition and reinstall XP but I'm not understanding why it won't boot from The files I want to recover are mostly photos, a few word files, and bookmarks.
